Name: Norbert Schartel Age: 44 Present position: XMM-Newton Project Scientist Short CV: 1990-1994: MPE / ROSAT (X-ray satellite) 1994-1998: ESA (Vilspa) / IUE 1998-now : ESA (Vilspa / ESAC) / XMM-Newton My main research areas are the X-ray spectra of AGNs and quasars. This started already with my thesis, which had the topic "X-ray spectra of quasars observed with ROSAT". Currently, if time permits, I am working on XMM-Newton observations of X-ray weak quasars, which show extremely interesting features with respect of the absorber and the relativistically broad iron florescence line. There are many other topics for which I am spending from time to time some hours reaching from gamma ray bursts up to Hawking radiation of black holes.
