Sarah Leeks Instrument and Calibration Scientist (SPIRE) Project Scientist Team, Herschel Science Centre Abstract for Jamboree micro-seminar, 23rd November 2006. Did my PhD at QMW on ISO-LWS, working on improving data reduction and science concerned High-mass star-formation (W28 A2). Then did post-docs, at QMW and Cardiff, continuuing with LWS data reduction and building a 200um photometer to work with SCUBA. Then in April 2003 I joined ESA at ESTEC to work on Herschel as Instrument and Calibration Scientist for SPIRE. Here I do a multitude of tasks, define AOTs, test HSpot, chair the Data Processing Users Group, write Observers' Manual, participate in SPIRE testing... My scientific interest is high-mass star-formation - in particular deducing physical properities from fine structure lines. I worked on W28 A2 for my thesis. I also helped with data reduction for various other sources. I'm currently involved with star formation Key Projects for Herschel using PACS and SPIRE and an Akari proposal on supernovae.
