Elena_Jimenez_Bailon LAEFF Researcher My name is Elena Jimenez Bailon. My research activity focuses on the study of the imprints of the circumnuclear matter of AGN in the X-ray spectrum. I started my research career at LAEFF-INTA. During my doctorate I worked on the high energy (X-rays and UV) contribution of the star-forming processes in low luminosity AGN. During the May-2003 to May-2005 period I took part if the XMM-Newton SOC at ESAC as a Research Fellow. The work was directed by Dr. Matteo Guainazzi and was mainly centered the analysis of public XMM-Newton observations of the complete sample of PG quasars. Afterwards, I spent a period of 6 months in Mexico, in the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico and the INAOE, covering two areas: the effects of warm absorbing material close to the AGN and the X-ray emission of starbursts in normal galaxies and AGN. I enjoyed the Spanish Postdoctoral Grant in the period from October 2005 to January 2007. The work, advised by Dr. Giorgio Matt, was held in Roma Tre University and was focused on the study of the X-ray emission of several AGN. Since January 2007, I am working at LAEFF-INTA with a "Juan de la Cierva" Spanish scientific contract in the INTEGRAL team and directed by Dr. Miguel Mas-Hesse. My main task is to do the XMM-Newton follow up of the sample of AGN discovered by INTEGRAL.
