ExoMars: Exploring Mars for evidence of Life

The ExoMars project is comprised of two missions, each exploring Mars in different ways. The 2016 mission is an orbiter and lander designed to examine the atmosphere and characterise the surface conditions at the landing site. The Trace Gas Orbiter element of the 2016 mission will remain as a relay for the Rover Surface Platform mission, planned for launch in 2020, which will explore and comprehensively examine a number of sites on Mars for evidence of life.
