If you look at the num_images column returned from the HSC query, you'll see there are many sources that have been observed more than 100 times, and some 200 times. Try changing the num_images to greater than 10, then plot again in the CMD, and also see what the CMD looks like with num_images > 180.
num_images > 10 will not remove all of the artifacts. Determining the best value of num_images is often one of the most important decisions you will have to make when using the HSC!
