The OmegaCEN astronomical data center serves international surveys teams for the data handling of imaging and spectroscopic surveys. This is done via the WISE information system which pools database, compute and storage facilities across dozen nodes across Europe. International survey teams collaborate via WISE for pipeline processing, quality control, archiving and releasing their raw and final survey data. WISE facilitates customized post-calibration processing on survey scales (e.g., multi-survey homogenization, complex catalog handling, morphometry, lightcurves, photometric redshifts) using own or third party software.
Here we present survey data handling with WISE by survey science teams for on-going ESO surveys (Kilo-Degree Survey with OmegaCAM, VISTA Kilo-degree Infrared Galaxy Survey) and future ESA missions (Euclid and Gaia). We focus on the experiences with survey data management, production monitoring, quality control and pipeline evolution as a collaborative effort by a geographically spread team.
