The meeting will take place at Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan, during 13-17 April 2026.

MEETING ROOMS

• The main venue is Hokkaido University Conference Hall, seating 304 people. Link to the venue's location on Google Maps.
• Splinter meetings will be held in smaller rooms near the main venue.

GETTING TO SAPPORO

• Hokkaido is the northernmost large island of Japan.
• Sapporo is served by Chitose Airport (IATA code CTS), around 50km south-east of Sapporo city centre.
• Chitose airport is a 1.5 hour flight from Tokyo; 2 hour flight from Osaka or Nagoya.

Chitose Airport to Sapporo

• ~40 minute rapid train, every 10-15 minutes. ¥1,230 one way.
• For those travelling from outside Japan and extending their stay, this train route is also covered by the Japan Rail Pass and Hokkaido Rail Pass.

WEATHER

• The weather is difficult to predict for April.
• It is probably too early for cherry blossom.
• For those travelling from outside Japan, for your information, April is the very end of the skiing and snowboarding season at nearby resorts. Suitable snow conditions are not guaranteed.
