CAB-ESA-JADES Mini-Symposium 2025

Tuesday 10 June

Background

The JWST Advanced Deep Extragalactic Survey (JADES), a joint venture by the NIRCam, NIRSpec and MIRI-US Guarenteed Time Observation (GTO) teams, has conducted deep infrared (IR) imaging and multi-object spectroscopy in the Hubble Deep Field (GOODS-N) and Hubble Ultra-Deep Field (GOODS-S).

European Space Agency (ESA) and Centro de Astrobiología (CAB) jointly hosted the JADES collaboration meeting at the ESAC Villafranca site near Madrid during the week 9-13 June 2025. Remote attendees also participated, particularly from a satellite JADES meeting for US-based collaborators hosted at Harvard near Boston, USA.

On Tuesday 10 June, we held a CAB-ESA-JADES mini-symposium, providing an opportunity for the three groups to present recent results, interact and discuss. While focused on extragalactic science, cross-discipline discussion is highly desirable, especially concerning data science, machine learning and/or JWST observations in general.
