Alberto Vecchiato - Gaia
Astronomical Observatory of Torino
Alberto Vecchiato graduated in Physics at the University of Padova, and completed his PhD in Space Science and Technologies in 2001. He has a post-doctoral position at the Astronomical Observatory of Torino and works mainly on the development of the RAMOD project, which aims at formulating and implementing a Relativistic model for astrometric data reduction. He is a core member of both the Relativistic and Reference Frame Working Group and of the Simulation Working Group.
As a Physicist, he is mainly interested in the various ways of testing General Relativity with high-precision experiments, a subject that was studied in this article for the Gaia case.
