Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur
Alejandra Recio-Blanco completed her PhD in 2003 with a thesis on the study of hot, horizontal-branch stars in Galactic globular clusters (spectroscopy and photometry). She is now a postdoctoral fellow at the Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur, Nice, France, where her research is focussed mainly on the preparation of individual chemical abundance measurements for Gaia's Radial Velocity Spectrometer, for a better understanding of the formation and evolution of the Milky Way. In particular, she is working on the automatic derivation of stellar atmospheric parameters and chemical abundances (especially iron and alpha-elements) and on the non-local thermodynamical equilibrium deviations affecting the lines in the RVS wavelength range. Alejandra is a core member of the RVS Working Group.
