Alfonso is a Software Engineer in the Science and Robotic Exploration Directorate at ESAC. He works for the Gaia Mission. From 1999 to 2005 Alfonso studied Computer Engineering at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Afterwards he worked for several consultancy companies, developing software in languages such as Java and Visual C++. At Isdefe, his previous company, he was involved in a range of different projects including the DIANA programme, a high speed and high capacity manoeuvrability aerial target UAV created by INTA (Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial). Working on DIANA, he developed software for mission planning and monitoring, and flight data analysis. Alfonso also developed ground control center software for CEDEA (Centro de Experimentación de El Arenosillo) and worked as Technical Officer on the project "Development of equipment/systems from the Spanish Competent PRS Authority" in the framework of the Galileo Programme.
