Asier Abreu joined the Gaia Science Operations Centre Calibration Team in ESAC in January 2013, working predominantly on software development and First Look analysis support.
Previously, Asier formed part of the Herschel data processing operations team at ESAC and he also worked on other ESA missions (GOCE and CRYOSAT-2) in the context of software development and testing.
Asier obtained a Masters degree in Astrophysics from the University of La Laguna in Tenerife in 2002, after which he moved to Oxford (UK) to work as hardware integration and test engineer.
In his free time, Asier likes trekking and reading.
