Berry Holl has been involved in Gaia since 2007, when he started his Ph.D in Lund on the "Characterization and analysis of the astrometric errors in the global astrometric solution for Gaia" under the supervision of Lennart Lindegren, and within the EU Marie Curie Research Training Network ELSA (European Leadership in Space Astrometry). As part of his Ph.D he developed important parts of AGISLab: a java software that enables elaborate simulations and experiments for Gaia astrometry. Additionally he has been involved in the calibration issues related to radiation damage of the Gaia CCDs.
