David Teyssier Gaia DPAC Project Office - Madrid |
After obtaining a MSc in Aeronautics in Toulouse, I discovered the world of radio-astronomy while working as support astronomer at the Institute of Radio-Astronomie Millimetrique in Granada, Spain. After two years there, I started a PhD in Paris to work on the calibration of one of the payload instruments of the Herschel satellite. This was the beginning of a long adventure where I had the chance to see what was just a design at the time turn into a real state-of-the-art hardware, to then be flown on a fantastic space platform. During that time I spent some years in the Netherlands to support the instrument testing, before moving to ESAC in 2005 to become part of the Herschel SOC as instrument scientist. This lasted until July 2017 when I finally joined the Gaia DPAC Project Office in support of the Project Coordinator. [Published: 24/11/2017] |
