Dimitri Pourbaix is a Research Associate at the Belgian National Fund for Scientific Research (FNRS). His work is focused on binaries, essentially on designing codes to derive orbital solutions whenever possible and necessary. Dimitri was an early member of the DACC and then moved to the DPAC as manager of the Coordination Unit 4 (Object Processing). When necessary he is the acting Belgian representative at the DPACE. Finally, he is the Scientist in Charge of the Belgian node within the ELSA network (Research and Training Network funded by the European Commission). Outside the Gaia framework (but maybe not that far outside), Dimitri is in charge of the 9th catalogue of spectroscopic binary orbits on behalf of the International Astronomical Union (Commission 30, Radial Velocities). Dimitri's homepage is here. [Published: 31/05/2004 | Updated: 26/02/2007] |
