Emmanuel Mercier obtained his Management Diploma from ESC Amiens in 1995. From 1995 to 1998, he worked as a project coordinator in a software development company. In 1999, he obtained a degree in computer sciences and managed technical projects in the aerospace and medical industry. In 2001, he joined the CNES as the head of a contractor team of Project Management Officers. From 2001 to 2008, Emmanuel has worked on more than 20 major space projects like ATV, PLEIADES, CoRoT, ChemCam, BepiColombo, DEMETER, Picard, Swarm, ... and liaised closely with CNES decision makers and French scientists. Emmanuel wrote several management plans in the product and project management fields, the last one in 2008: the CNES Scheduling Management Plan (ECSS-M-ST-10C, ECSS-M-ST-60C). In 2009, he joined the Gaia DPAC team as the Project Coordinator and Head of the DPAC Project Office at ESAC. On 1 July 2013 Emmanuel started a new job and stepped down as Project Coordinator and Head of the Project Office. Away from Gaia, his interests include programming video games, computer music, soccer and taking care of his family. [Published: 03/03/2009] |
