Florian is one of the two ESOC Mission Analysts working on Gaia. In Mission Analysis the team accompanies the mission from the first idea to launch. It is the task of the mission analyst to translate the requirements drawn up by the science team into constraints, requirements and assumptions for the system design by proposing a mission scenario and analysing it for its performance. This as such is an interactive process with many interfaces: science, project, and operations. Florian studied Aerospace Engineering at the University of Stuttgart, Germany and at the University of Sydney, Australia. He later received his PhD from the University of Stuttgart working on Exploration Missions utilizing near-Earth Libration Points. Florian joined ESOC in 2009, directly entering the Libration Point Mission Analysis Group. [Published: 26/07/2013] |
