University of Barcelona
Francesc Julbe is a telecommunications engineer from Barcelona who joined the Gaia team at the Departament of Astronomy in the University of Barcelona back in 2004, after a few years working in the IT private sector. He helped fine tuning the GDASS and IDT subsystems and also worked designing a VO interface for GUMS as a Master Thesis. He left the group in early 2007 to work at ESO (European Southern Observatory) as a software engineer, first in the VLT (Very Large Telescope) and later on in the ALMA project (Atacama Large Milimiter Array), where he worked for 3 years. Recently, he re-joined again the Gaia team in Barcelona to take care of CU2-GOG as external consultant.
When he's not working, he likes to spend the time with his two daughters and that leaves not much time for anything else!
