Holger Voss has obtained his PhD in 2006 at the Technical University of Berlin on studies supporting the development of the ground-based exoplanetary search system BEST. This system of the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) was introduced as a ground-based system undertaking supplemental photometric observations for the CoRoT satellite mission. Furthermore Holger has supported the implementation of another transit search system, TEST, at the Thuringia State Observatory, Tautenburg, Germany.
In late 2006 he joined the CU5 team at the University of Barcelona, working mainly on studies about aspects of the internal photometric calibration and the selection of standard stars for Gaia.
His scientific interests are focused at the transit detection of exoplanets and brown dwarfs.
Personal interests apart from his work are model rocketry, music and sports.
