Jesús Salgado is working within the Gaia CU9 as Technical Coordinator of the design and implementation of the Gaia Archive Core Systems and as Core Development Team coordinator within the ESA Science Archives and VO Team at ESAC. After obtaining his degree in Physics in 1992, Jesús started investigations on plasma physics simulations, where he published his Masters thesis in 1995 on Simulations of Tokamaks using Genetic Algorithms. From 1995 to 2002, he was working in ESA's ISO satellite and ESA's XMM-Newton operations and, in 2002, he joined the ESA Science Archives and VO Team, where he has been linked to the data access components, designing, implementing, and coordinating data layers and machine interfaces. Also, Jesús has been involved in Virtual Observatory projects like the IVOA (International Virtual Observatory Alliance) where he has had different roles in the Technical Coordination Group. He is currently the Data Model Working Group Chair, which handles the data model standards to be used within the VO. Jesús likes Kafka's novels and Indie movies. Published: 01/02/2013 |
