Tineke started working at ESTEC in 2016 as part of the Gaia Project Scientist Team. As project information manager she provides support to the Gaia scientific user community, the Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium and is also involved in outreach activities.
She graduated as a space engineer from the Technical University of Delft (The Netherlands) with a thesis on the low-thrust trajectory estimation using a shape-based method. She moved to the United States for a while where she worked as science planner for the NASA Swift satellite mission. At the Swift mission control centre in State College, she was involved in the day-to-day activities of the science operations team.
In her spare time Tineke likes to travel and meet up with friends. She also enjoys things like sitting at a campfire, cooking large dinners or going to the theater.
