Ulisse Munari works at the Astronomical Observatory of Padova in Asiago. He is co-leader of the working group optimising and developing the radial velocity spectrometer on Gaia. Ulisse is behind the idea of using the IR Ca triplet for the Gaia radial velocity measurements, and he is now active in the acquisition of associated spectral libraries of observed and synthetic spectra, their automatic classification and the evaluation of Gaia performances on eclipsing binaries used to derive stellar fundamental parameters. He organised the September 2002 Monte Rosa conference on 'Gaia Spectroscopy, Science and Technology' published as ASP Conf. Ser. Vol. 298, 2003. More details of the Monte Rosa conference are available online. [Published: 02/02/2004] |
