Uwe Lammers is a member of the Gaia Science Operations Centre development team established at ESA's European Space Astronomy Centre (ESAC) in Spain. His main area of responsibility is the planning and implementation of the Astrometric Global Iterative Solution that will form a central element of the Gaia ground data processing activities envisaged to be carried out at ESAC. Uwe's primary degree is in physics and computer science and he holds a PhD in physics. Uwe has worked for ESA on several other space mission projects. Before joining the Gaia team he was involved in the development of the Science Analysis System (SAS) software for ESA's XMM-Newton X-ray observatory. [Published: 22/03/2004 | Updated: 3/10/2005] |
