Registration - PLATO
Registration for the PLATO Guest Observers Programme
To prepare and submit proposals for Announcement of Opportunities (AOs), we strongly recommend registering for the PLATO Guest Observers (GO) Programme well in advance of any deadlines. This will provide users with access to all required software, such as the Campaign Handling System (CHS) and the Call for Proposals Toolset (CfP), which are needed to prepare, verify, and submit your proposal and target details.
When you use the PLATO self-registration link below take note that:
- If you have never been subscribed to an ESA Science platform, the interface below will create a new Cosmos username and directly link it to our PLATO group for you. The steps are as follows:
- You will insert an email address (you need to fill in the Captcha)
- The system will tell you that you do not exist in the system. You will be asked to insert your first name & second name.
- An authentication code will be sent to your email which you then need to fill in on the registration page to proceed to the next step
- An email is then sent which confirms your username and also provides a link to set your Cosmos password.
- Set your password.
- Once done then you can access the CHS.
- If you already have a Cosmos username but you still cannot see the CHS software (it's greyed out), then the steps are as follows:
- You need to also fill in the registration interface below to have your username added to the PLATO group.
- Once you insert your email address then you will be told that you have already a Cosmos username and it will register you in the PLATO Group
- If the system says you have a Cosmos account (username) linked to your email address but you don't remember the username or the password then follow these steps:
- Go to the following link: cas.cosmos.esa.int/cas/username
- Once you have a working username & password then come back to this registration page and ensure you register for PLATO.
- Once done then you can access CHS.
- If after the above, you still cannot access e.g. email address is old in the system, then send an email to the ESA Cosmos helpdesk - situ.servicedesk(AT)cosmos.esa.int
