Home - Towards Space Energy for Europe
About the event
Date: 27th September 2022
Location: Airbus, Munich Area Site
Airbus and the European Space Agency are glad to invite you to a special event showcasing wireless power transmission, an emerging technology to solve current sustainability challenges in the energy and space sector. The technology showcase is delivered in collaboration with Emrod and Technocarbon, two pioneering startups in the field.
Europe has set an ambition to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050, a difficult target considering the performance of current and near-term energy technologies.
We will introduce you to a potential new energy source, called Space-Based Solar Power, which would use satellites to capture solar energy in space, where it is plentiful and available 24/7, and beam it wirelessly to the ground, to power our cities, hydrogen production plants, carbon capture systems, and future electric aircraft. It may also redefine classical energy networks, with power being made available wirelessly from point to point on the ground, powering the industries of tomorrow.
During this event, you will have the chance to witness a ground demonstration, wirelessly transferring solar energy over a distance to power green applications. Throughout the day you will learn about the state of the art and hear from top experts about the future of this technology and how it can be developed at scale. You will also enjoy networking opportunities with agency representatives and top industry leaders from the space and energy sectors.
Please note that this is an invitation-only event with a limited number of seats, therefore we do appreciate confirmation of your attendance as soon as possible.
We are looking forward to welcoming you, to discuss further this game changing technology and what it could do for enabling our Net Zero future.
