Chandrayaan-1

Welcome to the Cosmos web pages for Chandrayaan-1. Chandrayaan-1 is the first Indian mission to the Moon. Europe is providing three instruments to this exciting mission:

C1XS - the Chandrayaan-1 X-ray Spectrometer, led by the Principal Investigator Manuel Grande from England;
SARA - the Sub KeV Atom Reflecting Analyser, led by Principal Investigator Stas Barabash from Sweden;
SIR-2 - the Near Infrared Spectrometer, led by Principal Investigator Urs Mall from Germany.

The European Space Agency has supported the funding of these instruments. In addition, ESA provides support for the data processing and archiving efforts.
