Gaia Data Release 4 Papers
An overview is given below of the papers that have been, or will be released with Gaia's data release 4 (Gaia DR4). Most of them will be compiled into a "Gaia Data Release 4 Special Issue" planned for publication in A&A. The links to the papers will be provided once available.
Summary papers
These papers provide an overview of the Gaia mission and the contents of Gaia Data Release 4 and summarise specifics of the survey. The Gaia Data Release 4 paper will also discuss the limitations of the Gaia DR4 data and provides recommendations for responsible use.

Publications associated with Gaia DR4
The Gaia Collaboration is preparing a series of publications that describe the Gaia Data Release 4 processing and content. The paper categories and titles are given in the table below. There are three main paper categories:
Gaia DR4 collaboration papers
These papers include the main release overview paper and other papers authored by the entire Gaia collaboration.
Gaia DR4 processing papers
These papers give technical details on the processing and calibration of the raw data and describe the data products in the Gaia Data Release 4 archive. The processing papers are complementary to the Gaia Data Release Documentation.
Gaia DR4 performance verification papers
These papers give an overview of the science potential of Gaia Data Release 4. Without going into in-depth analyses, they give a short introduction to selected science topics that can be addressed with this release. The purpose of these papers is to demonstrate the scientific quality of the data through examples. These performance verification papers are not exhaustive or definitive treatments of the topics.
