CNSA-ESA workshop on Chinese-European Cooperation in Lunar Science

16 - 18 July 2018

NH Barbizon Palace Hotel, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

ESA and CNSA (LESEC) are jointly sponsoring a workshop to explore common and synergistic areas of lunar science interest and expertise in Europe and China.

This event is being organised in the broader context of discussions between the two agencies on the potential for future cooperation in the area of lunar exploration, and the outcomes will provide inputs to be taken into account as CNSA and ESA continue to explore options for cooperation.

This workshop will cover the current and near-future lunar science activities taking place in China and in Europe, and aims to identify and develop opportunities for future collaboration in these areas. New and ongoing lunar science research will be presented, including lunar sample and remote sensing analyses, and characterisation for future landing sites. The benefits of cooperative efforts between Chinese and European scientists will be highlighted, focussing around addressing the major lunar science goals of today.
