2018 Workshop

 

 

 

On 2018 September 21 we organised a workshop at the European Space Astronomy Centre with about 60 participants: 29 participants travelled to ESAC while 25 more connected via a video connection essentially covering all time zones.

 

The participating institutions and peope were introduced by Jan-Uwe Ness in this presentation

The proposed protocols were introduced by Aitor Ibarra in this presentation

The Agenda was:

1) 09:00 CET Start of meeting with General introduction (scope of meeting)

2) Very brief introduction of attending groups and their stakes

3) Technical presentation on the services

a) In theory: - Motivation - General terms and definitions - Explain how it works - Status of VO ObsVisSAP and ObsLocTAP definition documents

10:00 - 10:30 CET: Coffee break

b) Implementation - Demonstration of INTEGRAL and XMM-Newton Prototypes - Explain required effort => Questions and comments - Explain when observatories can start implementing the services - Ways to support each other in the implementation process. Present what we could do from ESA => Does someone offer to run a forum, WiKi etc?

4) General discussion

a) Presentation of feedback received so far - What we have changed - What we have not changed and why - Where we don't know how to deal with them
