Ariel is the first space mission dedicated to measuring the chemical composition and thermal structures of a large well constructed sample of transiting and eclipsing exoplanets, enabling planetary science far beyond the boundaries of the Solar System.

The science objectives of Ariel as proposed for adoption in November 2020 are described in detail in the Red Book, which is available on the Documents and Articles webpage together with additional material.

Check out the presentations from the ARIEL: Science, Mission & Community 2020 conference held on 14-16 January 2020 in ESA/ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands to learn the latest on all aspects of the Ariel mission, including of course the science.
