ESA Research Fellowships in Space Sciences

We are pleased to inform you about the opening of the call for European Space Agency's Research Fellowships in Space Science.

The deadline for applications is

27 September 2021

ESA's postdoctoral Research Fellowship programme offers early-career scientists and engineers the possibility to carry out research in a variety of disciplines related to Space Science, Space Applications or Space Technology. Research Fellowships in Space Science specifically offer the opportunity to contribute to ESA's endeavour to explore our Solar System and the Universe, and cover the fields of heliophysics, planetary science, astrophysics and fundamental physics.

The research fellowships offer a unique insight into ESA's environment and activities while conducting cutting edge research. Mentoring and training opportunities are available, as are possibilities to engage with ESA science-related activities (e.g., archive/data science, operations, calibration, communication, citizen science).

Approximately 12 ESA Fellowships in Space Science will be offered this year. Independent proposals for innovative research associated with one or more of our missions are welcome. The Space Science fellowships can be taken at ESAC (Spain), ESTEC (Netherlands) or STScI (USA). Applicants are encouraged to choose sites that allow for best local collaborations.

Appointments are for a maximum of three years. The initial project is for two years. An extension for a third year requires a dedicated proposal and is frequently granted. Citizens of ESA Member States or of cooperating and associated countries can apply.

Call for Proposals for EAS 2022 Sessions

The 2022 Annual Meeting of the European Astronomical Society (EAS2022) will take place in Valencia (Spain) form June 27 to July 1, 2022.

This Meeting would be an excellent opportunity to show to the general astronomical community the impact of High Energy missions (XMM-Newton, INTEGRAL, Athena...) results and perspectives.

Expresions of interest to organise Symposia, Special Sessions, and Lunch Sessions are welcome. Deadline for submission is

30 September 2021

Full detail are given at

Reminder: NEW phase I PROPOSAL SUBMISSION SYSTEM (XIPS)

Scientists interested in sumbmitting a proposal for the XMM-Newton AO21 call, are reminded that the Phase I submission system (HRPS) has been replaced by a new on-line interface: XIPS (XMM-Newton Interface for Proposal Submission).

We encourage proposers to become familiar with the new interface well in advance to avoid last minute problems.

XIPS is available at

http://xmmrps.esac.esa.int/xips/

We take the opportunity to remind that the deadline for proposal submission is

8 October 2021, 12:00 UT

Yours sincerely,
