SAS watchout

Why epproc/epchain ends with a fatal error: Unsupported ALGOID?

If, when running EPIC-pn processing chains or tasks, you get one of the following "UnsupportedAlgoId" errors:

** epproc::epframes: fatal error (UnsupportedAlgoId), The table/array 'EPN_CTI_0045.CCF:LONG_TERM_CTI' specifies ALGOID=4 but this version of the CAL merely supports 0<=ALGOID<=3 - you may want to upgrade to a more recent version of the CAL that knows about the reported ALGOID.

or

** rmfgen: fatal error (UnsupportedAlgoId), The table/array 'EPN_REDIST_0012.CCF:NOISE_PARAMS' specifies ALGOID=1 but this version of the CAL merely supports 0<=ALGOID<=0 - you may want to upgrade to a more recent version of the CAL that knows about the reported ALGOID.

this is because you are still running SASv13.5, but using CCFs that are compatible only with SASv14.

SASv14 includes a number of improvements in the energy calibration of EPIC-pn. These changes have required both new CCFs and new algorithms. For this reason the new CCFs are not backward compatible.

We therefore advise to upgrade to SASv14.0 to benefit from the new improved calibrations.
