Object processing - Gaia
CU4: Object Processing |
| The object processing tasks include processing the astrometric and photometric data for more complex objects not handled by the astrometric core processing, specifically: (a) non-single stars (binary and multiple stars); (b) Solar System objects (asteroids, near-Earth objects, etc); (c) extended objects. |
CU4 has been highlighted in several stories on Gaia Cosmos:
- 2022, Gaia DR3: is it a double star? Discover Gaia's non-single star catalogue
- 2022, Gaia DR3: is it a quasar? Gaia DR3 quasar candidates
- 2022, Gaia DR3: is it a solar system object? The objects in the solar system seen by Gaia
- 2022, Gaia DR3: is it a galaxy? The galaxies in Gaia DR3
- 2022, Gaia DR3: Who produced the data? The people behind the scenes
